Accreditors Seek Feedback on SUNY Canton’s Registered Nursing to Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

Published:

The Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing will be holding a public forum seeking feedback about SUNY Canton’s Registered Nursing to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) program from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Feb. 6 in in Cook Hall Room 121.

The RN to BS program offers students the ability to achieve their two-year nursing degree on campus, begin working, then continue learning toward their four-year degree online. The college created it in 2016 to help address a nation-wide shortage of nurses in addition to helping its graduates advance within their field.

The goal of accreditation is to ensure that the education provided by SUNY Canton meets acceptable levels of quality as a premiere educational institution. Members of the college’s faculty, staff and administration use accreditation as a means to measure the success of programs and evaluate the quality of each career-driven major.

During the site review of the program, the accreditors wish to hear comments and suggestions from the public to help gauge the program’s effectiveness for continuing accreditation.

Written comments are welcome and should be submitted by January 30, 2017 to Marsal P. Stoll, Chief Executive Officer, Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326, or by email, mstoll@acenursing.org.
