SUNY Canton College Foundation to Cover Application Fees for Virtual Admissions Event Attendees

Admissions Drop-In Days May 18-21The SUNY Canton College Foundation has announced it will cover the application fee for any prospective student who attends the college’s upcoming Virtual Admissions Drop-In Days being held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, May 18 through Thursday, May 21.

The $50 fee will be covered by generous donations from alumni and friends in an effort to assist those who want to pursue a degree.

“As a college of access, we have always sought to reduce barriers to higher education, including cost,” said President Zvi Szafran. “Because this is such a challenging time for prospective students, we want to ensure that anyone who is thinking about enrolling this year has the opportunity to do so.”

The Virtual Drop-In Days are open to all, but are specifically designed for those who may have other obligations during the day.

“We understand some people don’t have the time to contact us during a weekday or even on a weekend,” said Admissions Director Melissa J. Evans. “So we’ll be available in the evening to virtually answer questions about applying, signing up for a class or learning about tuition payment options.”

Evans noted that admissions counselors can also discuss the college’s academic programs, including new degrees in Cybersecurity, Esports Management, Forensic Criminology, and Early Childhood Care and Management. Financial aid specialists will help prospective students navigate the necessary steps.

Guests can join the event via their phone, laptop or tablet from the comfort of home. Preregistration for the event is encouraged, but not required. Register or find the GoToMeeting link to attend on the Admissions Drop-In webpage.
