Family and Friends Weekend Returns to SUNY Canton
The SUNY Canton College Activities Board (CAB) is continuing the college’s tradition of festivities and fun during its annual Family and Friends weekend.
Elected student leaders from the CAB designed a carnival-themed weekend filled with family-friendly activities, entertainment, and food. The event pairs with a slew of home contests for the SUNY Canton Roos.
To kick off the weekend, Nadeen the Hypnotist will be performing at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, in the Kingston Theater. See internationally acclaimed hypnotist Nadeen Manuel and experience an unforgettable blend of comedy, inspiration, and positive transformation.
Guests are invited to carnival-themed activities from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, on the Roselle academic Plaza, the Miller Campus Center, and Parking Lot 13, including:
- Games
- A dunk tank
- Horse carriage rides
- Interactive inflatable activities
- A rock wall
- Vintage photobooth
- Custom photo novelties
- Food and ice cream trucks
- Movie showings throughout the day
- A Campus Jeopardy! Game show at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Kingston Theater.
The weekend’s schedule of athletic competitions includes the following events.
Friday:
- Women’s Volleyball vs. Hilbert at 3 p.m. at the Roos House, Stan Cohen Court
- Women’s Soccer vs. SUNY Delhi at 5 p.m. at the SUNY Canton Turf Field
- Women’s Volleyball vs. Keuka at 7 p.m. at the Roos House, Stan Cohen Court
Saturday:
- Women’s Cross Country, Hoffman Invitational at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence University
- Women’s Volleyball vs. VTSU Johnson at noon at the Roos House, Stan Cohen Court
- Men’s Cross Country, Hoffman Invitational, Noon at St. Lawrence University
- Women’s Volleyball vs. SUNY Poly at 4 p.m. at the Roos House, Stan Cohen Court
Sunday:
- Men’s Soccer vs. VTSU Castleton at 2 p.m. at the SUNY Canton Turf Field
Weekend College Association Updates:
The Campus store will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in Miller Campus Center, second floor.
Dinner will be available beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Chaney Dining Center.
