Mobile Mammography Appointments Available at SUNY Canton, April 28

Published:

SUNY Canton will be hosting Upstate University Hospital’s Mobile Mammography program from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28. To schedule an appointment, visit Upstate Mobile Mammography or call 315-464-2588.

Screening mammograms can help detect breast cancer in its earliest form, making treatments more successful and increasing survival rates. The American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) recommend yearly screening mammography starting at age 40 for women of average risk. Upstate’s Mobile Mammography Unit features state-of-the-art technology and staff to support imaging.

“We understand that it can be difficult to make time with classes, work, family, and other commitments,” said Farren Lobdell, SUNY Canton’s director of wellbeing programs and initiatives. “That’s why we’ve partnered with Upstate University Hospital’s Mobile Mammography Program to bring the screening to campus.”

This event is open to current SUNY Canton students, employees and the community and is hosted by Wellbeing Programs & Initiatives and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Please contact Lobdell at davisf@canton.edu if you have questions about the event or see the Frequently Asked Questions.

Most insurance carriers cover mammography, but if uninsured, the New York State Cancer Services Program may be able to help. Please let the scheduler know if you are uninsured when making an appointment.
