Accreditation

SUNY Canton is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). MSCHE is an independent voice in higher education recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE). MSCHE establishes equitable standards for accreditation with member institutions that advance and promote educational excellence. Using a peer review process, MSCHE provides member institutions with Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation that are aimed at ensuring that colleges adhere to ethical practices and institutional integrity. Institutions who earn and maintain accredited status can state with confidence: “Our students are well-served; society is well-served.”

The College's accreditation was reaffirmed on November 16, 2023. Our next visit for reaffirmation will occur during the 2030-2031 academic year.
