Tutor Application

Employment Criteria

All successful applicants must be able to satisfy the following criteria both for initial and ongoing employment with Tutoring Services.

Students must:

  1. Be enrolled in courses at SUNY Canton.
  2. Provide a transcript at time of hire and each semester thereafter supporting good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. All courses that students wish to tutor must be reflected as completed coursework on their transcript with a final grade of 3.0 or better.
  3. Provide a faculty endorsement(s) relevant to the areas in which they wish to tutor supporting them as a tutor for the Tutoring Center.
  4. Submit a completed Tutoring Services application.
  5. Complete the CRLA training program within the first semester of employment.

Professionals must:

  1. Hold a minimum of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Provide a transcript indicating most recent degree earned.
  3. Provide a current CV or resume indicating education and work experience.
  4. Provide 3 references.
  5. Submit a completed Tutoring Services application.
  6. All professionals are strongly encouraged to complete the CRLA training program.
